Educational
Philosophy
During the early part
of the century, Dr. Maria Montessori observed
and worked with children in Italy and concluded
that the early years of life are crucial
to the functioning and growth of the individual.
Children are enormously capable beings.
Montessori believed that
children are sensitive to different kinds
of learning at different points in their
development.
Thus we create environments
and provide materials that respond to the
individual needs and interests of each child
and at the same time are attractive to the
children.
The set up of the
Unitarian Society lends itself to the creation
of these environments.
