From slicing, mixing, cooking and baking to costume making and Thanksgiving play everyone was busy in preparation for Thanksgiving. On Tuesday the children joined in sing-along followed by our rich feast. We are thankful for all those delightful moments we shared together:)

Happy Diwali to all our Hindu friends! What a wonderful celebration we had with the dance, skit and food! Thank you parents for bringing so much light to our Wednesday:)
Octoberfest is a celebration of the beautiful month of October. So there it was...A sunny day in Holmdel park filled with excitement, laughter, music, food and fall colors. Not to forget pumpkins and crafts. Congratulations to our raffle winners and a heartfelt thank you to all who participated. International Day of Peace is celebrated on September 21st every year. All our friends joined together in singing songs and decorating our Meditation Garden with their own peace art. May Peace Prevail On Earth! Our new and old friends filled the classrooms and hallways with excitement. Old friends greeted each other fondly and new friends eagerly explored materials on the shelves. Brave moms and dads gave a quick extra hug at the door to help our new friends settle in faster. And there it started, our new adventure together, the school year of 2015-2016. Children were busy working, both in the classroom and on the playground, enjoyed their lunches with new and old friends and rested to gain some more energy for the afternoon play. And before we knew it, the day was over. One friend asked if she can come again tomorrow, and we sure hope so! Looking forward to a wonderful year!
Thursday was an extra special day as the petting zoo arrived at our school. The children loved the bunnies, ducks, goats, baby lama and a pony. They were able to feed, pet and groom the animals. Enjoy the gallery below!
In May our caterpillars arrived, and as children excitedly fed them milkweed leaves, tiny caterpillars transformed into big, fat caterpillars just like in the story by Eric Carle. Witnessing leaves disappear was a major hit in the classroom! Everyone waited patiently while caterpillars climbed to the top and spun their own chrysalis. The chrysalis changed color-from green with golden thread to black(which is actually transparent because a Monarch butterfly has black wings). Our students eagerly welcomed their new animal friends and even sang them Happy Birthday during their release!
On Wednesday and Thursday we have started a ride to help end cancer with St. Jude Trike-A-thon. Teaching our students bike safety and the importance of helping others—all while having fun! There was an obstacle course, balancing on a beam, crawling through a tunnel, riding on our bikes, ball games and a lot of excitement! Thank you to all the parents who generously supported this cause by raising $1905!
