Unitarian Montessori School is seeking a Substitute Assistant Teacher to work with children aged 18 months to 6 years. This is a flexible, on-call position to cover staff absences as needed.
The role of the Substitute Assistant Teacher is to support the Head Teacher in maintaining a calm, nurturing, and prepared Montessori environment. Applicants should be motivated to care for young children, adaptable to various classroom settings, and responsive to their developmental needs.
Responsibilities include:
• Assisting in guiding children through daily activities
• Supervising children both indoors and on the playground
• Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students
• Supporting classroom routines and transitions
• Maintaining a clean and orderly environment
Substitute teachers may also be asked to participate in school events and staff meetings, depending on the length of the assignment. Prior experience working with young children is preferred.
